David Key provides training in several areas, including leadership, organizational
development, and special topics for state and local elected officials, managers, supervisors
and staff. He also facilitates meetings and planning retreats for staff and elected
bodies of local and state government. David has over 20 years of training experience
with the Institute of Government. He came to the Institute of Government in 1997 as
an instructor in the State Government Training Program and was the primary trainer
for the Child Support Enforcement program. Over the years, he has expanded his expertise
into providing the broad range of training and facilitation services the Institute
of Government offers. His teaching formats range from classroom training to personal
coaching and facilitating group retreats. David has done research in urban sociology,
conflict theory, experiential education and organizational sociology.
