Jeremy Daniel serves as the Assistant to the Director for Strategic Initiatives, where
he provides counsel and recommendations concerning strategic direction, organizational
development and performance improvement. In close coordination with the Director,
Jeremy plays a hands-on role in the design, implementation, and evaluation of organizational
and management processes that guide and integrate the various efforts of the divisions
into a more meaningful and productive enterprise. These activities include internal
evaluation, strategic and operational planning, management tools, performance tracking,
process improvement, and reporting. Also, Jeremy provides governance and operational
leadership for the institute’s portfolio management and data reporting/visualization
systems.
Jeremy has served at the University of Georgia since February 2014. Most recently, Jeremy served as the Director of the UGA Mentor Program, the University’s award-winning, comprehensive mentorship initiative, that has fostered 4,500+ mentoring
relationships. Prior to serving at the University, Jeremy worked in the railroad industry
at Norfolk Southern Corporation, Patrick Engineering, and the Georgia Department of
Transportation.
Jeremy is actively engaged in the local community by serving as a Clarke County Mentor
Program mentor/board member, Downtown Academy lunch buddy, and Athens REACH Scholarship
advisory board member. He was a member of the Georgia Trend 40 under 40 Class of 2023
and a graduate of the Leadership Georgia class of 2023. He is a member of the 2024
GeorgiaForward Young Gamechangers and 2024 Athens Chamber of Commerce Gamechangers:
Top 10 under 40.
