We have partnered with Georgia Government Management Information Sciences (GA GMIS) to offer program certification for qualified professionals through online and in-person classes, independent assignments and a capstone project.
About
The Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) focuses on:
- emerging technologies
- interpersonal communication
- security
- project and resource management
- ethics
- sustainability
- contract management
- other related topics
Due to the collaboration with GA GMIS, the in-person classes take place during the semi-annual GA GMIS conferences. Participation in the in-person classes is required.
Requirements for acceptance into the program:
- minimum of five years of public managerial experience* in the technology field
- minimum four-year degree* from an accredited institution of higher learning or service in the military
- agree by signature to a self-enforced code of ethics
- at least one letter of approval for participation from a current city, county, or state agency supervisor
- completion of a formal application stating why you want to enroll in this program, what you bring to the class and your overall expectation
- ability to pay tuition in full upon acceptance/registration
*Request for waivers are available on the program application.
