The Fannin County Chamber of Commerce and Fannin County Parks and Recreation have completed a series of improvements to Horseshoe Bend Park with help from UGA.

Located outside of McCaysville along the Toccoa River, Horseshoe Bend improvements were first envisioned during the community’s 2019 Copper Basin RSVP with the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government.

The Fannin County Chamber of Commerce began working with the Fannin County government to dedicate motel/hotel tax proceeds to park improvements beginning in 2021.

Over multiple successive funding rounds, the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce has dedicated over $800,000 to improvements at Horseshoe Bend Park, with additional support from the local government.

Improvements include new dog parks, pavilion, playground, walking path and river access point for boaters and recreation.
